When looking at online MBA programs, it is best to look at everything that is offered for each program before making a final decision. With the online CMBA program at Florida International University, there are many things that stand out to make it a viable option. There is a lot of flexibility offered to students, the school has the highest accreditation available, and there are even scholarships to help pay for the program. Understanding what all is offered is the first part to making the decision for the school you want to attend and the program you want to work on. It is a big decision because you will be working on this for at least a year. Before choosing a school to attend, it is best to look at all of the facts. We have gathered 25 facts about the Florida International University Online CMBA program to assist you with this.

  • The Florida State International University School of Business has the highest accreditation that a business school could have: Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
  • There is a rolling application deadline and new terms start every few months. This means you have a lot of flexibility when it comes to your start date. You can start when it fits your schedule and not the other way around.
  • In order to apply for the program, you must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • You must also have a 3.0 GPA from upper coursework. However, if you GPA is lower than 3.0, you must also offer very strong work experience in order to be considered. You must show this by having your transcripts sent to the university in a sealed and official envelope from your previous school.
  • All applicants must either have four years of professional work experience or two years and a GMAT score of 500 or a GRE score of at least 154 verbal and 152 quantitative.
  • If you are a Florida resident, you must provide proof that you have been a resident for at least 12 months. There are several ways that you can provide proof to the university for application purposes.
  • All applicants are required to submit two professional letters of recommendation.
  • You must also submit your statement of purpose. There are specific guidelines for this that are outlined on the university website. This purpose will be approximately two pages in length.
  • The last thing that must be submitted is a copy of your updated professional resume.
  • For international students, you must also provide your score for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). This is to ensure that you can read, write, and understand English as the entire program is taught in this language. For more information on admissions, please visit the website.
  • The tuition for the program is approximately $3,000 oer course, $1,000 per credit hour, or a total od $42,000. These amounts are subject to change so we advise that you check for current pricing on the website to ensure it has not changed or to see the current pricing prior to applying.
  • There are scholarships available for this program specifically. If you qualify for the scholarship and apply for it in time, you can get a large discount on the program. The price of the program with the scholarship is $32,000 total, $22,85.71 per course, or $761.90 per credit. The scholarship is not retroactive so if you get it after you have started the program, it will only apply to the courses you have not yet taken.
  • However, if you do not qualify for the scholarship, there are other ways to get assistance for the program. There are other scholarships, grants, and even government loans through FASFA. Speak with an advisor to explore all of your options.
  • All courses are given online. To ensure that you are prepared to begin the program, you must be able to give approximately 10-12 hours per course every week in time. If you are unable to do so, you will fall behind in your coursework and the program.
  • This program has been designed for the working professional. That means that you are typically not required to log on to the system at a specific time during the week and can get the work done at your leisure. This takes a lot of stress off of the student while working a professional job as well.
  • The degree that you will be working toward at Florid International University is called the Corporate MBA.
  • For the program, there are 42 credits that must be taken prior to graduation.
  • You can complete the coursework in as little as 18 months with the accelerated program.
  • There are three tracks you can take to provide you with added flexibility in the classroom.
  • Track A is perfect for someone who needs a non-accelerated pace. On this track, the program is completed in two years and 6 months and you take only one class per quarter.
  • Track B is ideal for someone who may want to switch the number of classes up depending on the work load. You take classes on your schedule and you can stick with one or bump up to two. On this track, students typically finish the program in one year and nine months.
  • Track C is for the student who wants to graduate as soon as possible and is the most accelerated track. Students take two classes per quarter and graduate in 18 months.
  • Each quarter is 8 weeks in length.
  • Some of the courses included in the curriculum are: Competitive Strategy, Accounting for Managers, Corporate Finance, Operations Management, Marketing Management in the Global Environment, Strategic Management, and Legal Environment of Business.
  • The curriculum is designed for the modern world and you will learn both concepts and how to use them correctly in the business world. As a working professional, you will be able to apply the things you learn in your studies directly into your professional life.
