  • Students who are admitted into the University of Maryland University College Online MBA are placed into a cohort that consists of approximately 25 students.
  • You move through the program with your cohort. This means that you take classes on a schedule and do not have much flexibility with choosing which specific classes you take and when.

  • The online MBA program consists of 42 credits. This is made up of 7 six credit seminars.
  • There is also a prerequisite course that consists of 3 credit hours that is required before you can start the coursework (AMBA 600). It must be taken in the first semester and you must achieve a grade of B or better to continue the program.
  • This prerequisite can be waived, however, if you have taken the GMAT and have a score that is in the 70th percentile or above. It can also be waived if you have already completed another graduate program.
  • You have the option of taking COMM 600 if you want to improve your graduate writing skills. This course, Academic Writing for Graduate Students is a three credit course and is recommended for students in the program.
  • The other seminars in the program, which must be taken in the order they are listed are as follows: The Manager in Organizations and Society; Managing People and Groups in the Global Workplace; The Economics of Management Decisions; Managing Projects, Operations, and Information Systems; Marketing Management and Innovation; Managing Global Business, and Managing Strategy in the Global Marketplace.
  • The University of Maryland University College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. This is a regional accreditation.
  • The online MBA program is accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education.
  • If you stay in the program and complete the program with your cohort without taking any breaks, you will complete the program in two years. You will pay the same tuition if you do not take any breaks. However, if you take a break and come back, you may be charged the updated tuition rate.
  • Each term is ten weeks in length. Each year, students in the cohort will complete four terms.
